Dive Into Our Ocean Festival
Now in its 31st year, the Northern Beaches Council’s beloved Ocean Festival invites you to join in on celebrating the beauty and biodiversity of our marine environments. This year, gather by the stunning Quarantine Beach, Q Station on Sunday 8th December, to honour our five marine protected areas and the incredible flora and fauna that thrive both below the water and along our rock platforms.
Did you know that our oceans cover a staggering 80% of our planet? They are vital to our survival, generating 50% of the oxygen we breathe and absorbing about 25% of all carbon dioxide emissions. This makes it more important than ever for us to come together to keep our oceans healthy.
The Q Station Ocean Festival will feature a host of thrilling activities, including beach clean-up initiatives in collaboration with Dive Centre Manly’s ‘Dive Against Debris’. Join us to take action in protecting our precious marine life while enjoying diving adventures in our local waters.
But that’s not all! Delight in live music while savouring a delicious BBQ on the wharf, or rent gear for kayaking, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding to explore the beauty of the ocean up close.
Bring your friends and family and immerse yourself in a celebration that promises both fun and purpose. Whether you’re an ocean enthusiast or a casual beachgoer, there’s something for everyone at this year’s Ocean Festival.
Let’s come together to honour and protect our magnificent oceans and the vital role they play in our world. We can’t wait to see you there!
